TAM to link Brazil and London
21 April 2006
Brazil's largest airline TAM has been given the thumbs up to fly seven times a week to London.
Official authorization from the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) was given to the airline to start flights to Britain, but the start date for the service is yet to be confirmed.
London will be TAM's second European destination after Paris - which it currently has two daily flights to.
Anac also gave the airline permission for additional flights to the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires flying from five airports in Brazil.
This year will also see flights commencing to Miami from Manaus - capital of Amazonas State and to New York's JFK International Airport from Sao Paulo.
TAM currently also flies to Salvador, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia as well as destinations within Brazil.
