Eagle lands in Louisiana

US airline American Eagle to start flying between Monroe, Louisiana, and Dallas.

American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, will begin the direct service between Monroe Regional Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on 15 June.

American Eagle President Peter Bowler said: 'American Eagle is excited to add service to another new destination in Louisiana from our Dallas/Fort Worth hub.

'In addition to new access to north Texas, travellers in north-east Louisiana will have convenient connections to destinations throughout the country and the world on American and American Eagle.'

The service will run three times daily and means that American Eagle and American offer 41 daily departures from Louisiana cities, including New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport and Lafayette.

From 15 June American Eagle will also be starting flights between New York and Des Moines, Iowa.

Iowa Senator Charles Grassley said: 'A direct flight between Des Moines and New York City will be a great benefit to Iowans

'This direct and daily flight to the Big Apple from the heart of Iowa will make trips more productive for businesses and more convenient for vacationers.'
