Delta launches new service from Atlanta
16 May 2006

Delta has announced a new non-stop route between Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson airport and Sioux Falls in South Dakota.

The third largest carrier in the US said that its Atlantic Southeast Airlines branch will offer the daily round trip service from 07 August.

The move has been seen as confirmation of Delta's growing commitment to services from its main hub, with 14 new destinations from Atlanta since last autumn.

"Delta is pleased to expand service to Sioux Falls, a city of great natural beauty and an important gateway to the plains," commented Bob Cortelyou, the airline's vice president of network planning.

"The reach and convenience of our Atlanta hub will make it easier for Sioux Falls area customers to reach most any point on the globe, whether their final destination is Atlanta or Athens."

The airline expects to run over 1,000 departures a day from Atlanta this summer to over 220 destinations non-stop.
