Monarch announces new Alicante flights
17 May 2006

In response to increased passenger demand, the budget airline Monarch is to operate four extra flights per week to Alicante from Manchester, adding an additional 21,000 seats to the popular route.

Eleven planes per week with a total number of 84,000 seats will now fly to the fashionable Spanish holiday destination during the winter period 2006/07.

Tim Jeans, managing director of Monarch's scheduled division, said: 'Alicante is one of our most popular routes, with over 80,000 people already booked to travel this summer.

'More people choose to fly from Manchester to Alicante with Monarch than any other airline, and now our service offers even greater choice and more low fares.'

The additional flights will operate on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Luton-based Monarch operates both charter and low-cost scheduled services and flies to around 100 destinations across Europe, America, Africa and Asia from the UK's national and regional airports.
