Glasgow Film Festival fast approaching
17 January 2007
Film buffs from across the world are preparing to flock to Scotland for the third annual Glasgow Film Festival.
More than 90 films will be screened at the eleven-day event which runs from 15 February to 25 February.
Organisers promise that the festival will have a little something for everyone and a number of major UK premieres will take place.
Robert De Niro's The Good Shepherd, Clint Eastwood's Golden Globe-winning Letters from Iwo Jima and Woody Allen's Scoop are some of the highlights.
'It's a really exciting and packed programme that has something for all tastes and all pockets,' said festival co-directors Allan Hunter and Allison Gardner in a joint statement.
'The titles range from the latest must-see Hollywood productions to the best art house triumphs of the past year, ace documentaries, a day of top scary movies and films with a strong Scottish flavour.'
As well as the big premieres, the festival is hosting a tribute to John Wayne's acting career in what is the 100th year since his birth.
