Benicassim International Festival
17 January 2007

Revellers and festival goers from across the world are preparing to take to the Spanish coast for the Benicassim International Festival.

Tickets have already gone on sale for the music event which attracts thousands of visitors every year and is not for the feint-hearted.

Described by some of the 30,000 people who attend each year as a sun, dance, trance and anything-goes extravaganza, Benicassim Festival is one of the most popular music events in the world.

The first event was held in 1994 and since then it has grown and grown. As well as top bands and musical performances, there are exhibitions of dance, fashion, art, theatre and film.

In the past the festival has been graced by the likes of Radiohead, Bjork, Oasis, Babyshambles and Primal Scream, among others.

The festival is held close to the beach, with Benicassim in the Costa del Azahar region of Spain.
