UK's most romantic destinations
23 January 2007
A list has been compiled, detailing the top ten most romantic holiday destinations in the UK.
Travelodge says that London, Edinburgh, York, Bath and Manchester are the most popular destinations over the course of the year, but on Valentine's Day, there are a few slightly more romantic places to visit.
The number one romantic location in the UK has been named as the Lake District, which is cited as one of the most naturally beautiful places in the country.
Second spot goes to Cornwall, which Travelodge says is great due to its beaches and mild weather compared to other parts of the country.
Edinburgh ranks third, while Derbyshire scores well in fourth, with the region's Peak District attracting many couples throughout the year.
Brighton comes in at number five, with the city's vast array of hotels, along with sea views, helping with its ranking.
Harrogate, Bath, Ludlow, North Wales and the Cotswolds were also included in the top ten romantic destinations in the UK.
