Peninsula is coming to Europe
02 February 2007
People taking a city break in either London or Paris may soon have another luxury hotel to choose from.
The Peninsula chain is said to be considering a venture into Europe, with the capitals of England and France the most likely destinations.
There are already Peninsula hotels in Asia and the US, with two projects currently being carried out in Japan.
'We're looking for good investments throughout the world,' said Eymon Tsang of Hongkong & Shanghai Hotels, the company behind Peninsula.
'We'd like to enter developed countries where people can afford to pay high room rates.'
If the hotels are going to take off in Europe, they will need to compete with some of the best chains in the world.
However, Peninsula has a great reputation and customer service has always been key to the chain's success.
