St Patrick's Day in Malaysia
05 March 2007

St Patrick's Day is an event usually celebrated in Ireland but that does not mean the rest of the world will not be joining the party.

Many countries will be celebrating on 17 March and none will be making more of an effort to capture the spirit of St Patrick's Day than Malaysia.

Guinness, an alcoholic drink synonymous with the celebration, is taking it to Malaysia for the first time and it is hoped that St Patrick's Day will be a huge hit in the country.

Tourists and locals alike are being invited to get involved in the party which will come to a resounding conclusion with a huge street carnival on 17 March.

Traditional Irish cuisine will be on offer as well as a host of bar promotions throughout the country.

Revellers will also adopt another Irish St Patrick's Day tradition by adorning themselves with shamrocks, leprechaun outfits and green hats as they dance the night away to Irish music.
