Iran's children help with tours
23 March 2007

Travellers visiting Iran are now being offered the chance to be guided the historic Sialk mound in Kashan by children.

The youngsters are dressed in traditional clothes and offer tourists detailed historical information as they show them around.

For years holidaymakers have been flocking to the region to see the fantastic site and learn about its history.

However, this is the first time that children have been used as tour guides and officials say the idea is to attract even more visitors.

The Sialk mound has been a source of interest for Iranian and foreign archaeologists since the 1930s and some incredible finds have been made there.

It has been proved that people were living in the area as long ago as six BC.
