Improved Sidney airport gets customer thumbs-up
12 April 2007
The completion of improvements to the second terminal at Sydney Airport has met the demands of satisfied customers, airport authorities claim.
The redevelopment of what airport chief executive Russell Balding calls "the busiest and most popular terminal at Sydney Airport" cost $20 million Australian dollars (£8.4 million).
But the investment already seems to have been worthwhile, as initial approval ratings from customers rate the terminal at 89 per cent for appearance and cleanliness and 83 per cent for varied catering, nine per cent higher than this time last year.
The terminal is set to process ten million customers a year, with carriers including Virgin Blue, Jetstar, Qantaslink and Aeropelican poised to serve incoming and outgoing traffic.
Opening out onto the open ocean, Sydney boasts stretches of stunning beach, the unmissable opera house and harbour bridge - and serves as a springboard for the more adventurous traveller psyched up for off-the-beaten-track adventures in the outback.
