Heathrow Express gets wi-fi
25 April 2007
Passengers using the Heathrow Express train service will now benefit from wi-fi internet access on all of its trains.
The route runs from London Paddington and Heathrow airport and the new broadband service is designed to offer passengers the chance to make maximum use of their time.
The entire route has become a hotspot, with T-Mobile providing a broadband connection speed of 2Mbps even when the train goes through a six-kilometre tunnel.
Passengers will need to purchase a wi-fi access card for the 15-minute journey and this will remain valid at other T-Moble hotspots at Heathrow airport and Paddington station.
'We are constantly looking for innovative and useful services for our customers, and the addition of T-Mobile HotSpots further improves the experience we offer and illustrates why we've been voted the nation's favourite train company,' said Brian Raven, managing director of Heathrow Express.
'Delivering outstanding customer service is what our customers expect and giving our time-sensitive travellers the choice to be connected throughout the 15 minute trip to or from the airport is an excellent example of how Heathrow Express stays one step ahead of competitors.'
Heathrow Express runs 150 services every day, with an average 15,000 passengers making use of it on a daily basis.
