Glenn Gould exhibition
16 May 2007

Musical fans interested in the work of one of Canada's greatest imports, Glenn Gould, will be delighted to know that an exhibition is being held in his honour.

The internationally famous pianist wowed crowds for years with his musical stylings, which were often referred to unconventional and genius.

The exhibition will look at Glenn's life, from his childhood to stardom and eventually his decision to move away from the stage.

Entitled Glenn Gould: The Sounds of Genius, the exhibition is to be held at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, in Ottawa-Gatineau.

It will begin on 28 September 2007, the date which marks the 75th anniversary since the day Glenn was born.

'Glenn Gould was an extraordinary Canadian whose creative work as a musician, writer, and media producer was shaped by his northern vision,' said Dr. Victor Rabinovitch, president of the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation.

'This exhibition will reveal his unique genius to a new generation. It will also delight and inform his most ardent fans.'

Fans will be able to visit the multimedia exhibition for almost a whole year as it will be in place until 10 August 2008.
