New luxury London hotel
18 May 2007
London is already famous for being home to some of the world's best hotels but it could soon be welcoming another.
Bev King, the man who used to head Thistle Hotels, has reportedly signed a multi-million pound deal to introduce a new hotel in the High Holborn area of the city, reports Caterer Search.
Mr King, along with a team of private backers, is putting together a group named Kingsgate London Properties and has big plans for the UK's capital city and the rest of Europe.
The High Holborn hotel is set to be based within the Grade II-listed former Baptist Society headquarters which now lies derelict.
Plans have been put forward to develop the site into a five-star luxury hotel with 65 bedrooms and a spa.
Work is due to begin by the end of 2007 and it is expected to be finished by the end of 2008, at which point Kingsgate London Properties are going to be looking to expand across Europe.
'We'll get three up and running first and then extend the platform with similar quality properties in Europe,' revealed Mr King.
