Wedding dresses left at airport
24 May 2007
An airport lost property auction has turned up some rather strange items.
Around 20,000 objects were put for sale after they were left unclaimed at airports around Spain.
The auction took place in Madrid and some of the stranger items include a number of wedding dresses.
Although it is almost inconceivable that a passenger would forget to take their wedding dress home, auction-goers said there were some more bizarre items up for sale.
'The most curious thing I found was a male chastity belt,' a woman at the Madrid airport auction told Spanish television channel Telecinco.
Spanish law dictates that any items lost and left unclaimed for over eight months can be auctioned by Iberia Airlines, with the proceeds going to the Spanish government.
Other items that were put up for sale were much more mundane and included jewellery, blankets and sunglasses.
