Roswell to get alien theme park
29 May 2007
A new alien theme park is due to open in the home of UFOs Roswell.
The city is famous for its relationship to UFO sightings and alien abduction stories and local businesses have been cashing in for years.
However, officials are now set to up the ante by opening an alien-themed amusement park which could be ready for business by 2010.
Alien Apex Resort is set to be a hit with tourists, many of whom already visit the region just to see the famous sites mentioned in films and books and by conspiracy theorists.
The park will include an indoor roller coaster that will apparently recreate an alien abduction.
'Nobody will be harmed and everybody will be returned, hopefully, in the same shape,' concept designer Bryan Temmer told the Associated Press.
The idea came to Mr Temmer a few years ago and he revealed that he was never in any doubt as to where the park should be built.
'I knew there was only one place on the planet, probably in the universe, where this idea would work,' he said.
The park is expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars but concrete plans have yet to be put in place.
