Lufthansa connects Bristol to international network
05 November 2007
Bristol airport passengers will be connected to Lufthansa's international network of flights next year when the airline launches a service to Frankfurt on 30 March.
The carrier will offer three flights a day that will be timed to offer passengers quick and simple access to connections via its main base in Germany.
Lufthansa's international network consists of over 13,000 flights a week to 188 destinations in 79 countries.
Tony Hallwood, aviation development director at Bristol, described the introduction of direct daily services to Frankfurt as 'fantastic news'.
'As well as providing onward connections to central and eastern Europe, the Middle East, Far East, Australasia, USA, Canada and South America, this key new service will further reduce the need for road and rail journeys to Heathrow,' he added.
'This connectivity is also great news for the region's inbound tourism industry, as it opens up new markets for German visitors to Bristol, Bath and beyond.'
