Sydney Bridge climb 'best experience in NSW'
08 November 2007
Scaling the Sydney Harbour Bridge has been voted the best experience in New South Wales (NSW) at the Golden Backpack awards.
Held in cooperation with TNT magazine, the reader-voted awards recognise companies who contribute to enhancing the experience of backpacking around Australia and New Zealand.
BridgeClimb Sydney, the company that offers the opportunity to scale the iconic structure, was praised for making the climb one of Sydney's 'must-do' activities.
Over 2m people have taken part in the pursuit - including movie stars Robert De Niro, Will Smith and Nicole Kidman - and last year over 2,000 visitors ascended to the top of the bridge.
Todd Coates, managing director of BridgeClimb Sydney, said: 'It is humbling to be honoured in the 'best experience in New South Wales' category amongst the impressive company of my fellow finalists for this award.
'Winning this award ensures that our team will drive forward with even greater pride and commitment in ensuring the climb of a lifetime for every climber, every time.'
Visitors can climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge by day, night or twilight.
