Gatwick Express passengers offered a taste of Beaujolais
13 November 2007

Passengers on Gatwick Express trains on 15 November will be offered samples of the 2007 Beaujolais Nouveau.

New Beaujolais wines are traditionally released on the third Thursday of every month.

Passengers on Gatwick Express services, which run from London Victoria to Gatwick airport, will be given samples of the wine, with the first being offered on the 00:01 train from Victoria.

Gareth Jones, head of customer services for Gatwick Express, said: 'We believe we are the first ever train operating company in the UK to offer the new Beaujolais Nouveau to customers. We also believe we may be the first in the world.

'This wine tasting event will appeal to our international customers as the race to ship the wine all around the world as quickly as possible has become a global phenomenon and is popular in countries such as America and Japan.'

Mr Jones went on to claim that the Gatwick Express is the 'fastest, most comfortable' way to travel between London and Gatwick airport.
