Enjoy a gastro-tour of Frisco
27 November 2007

Holidaymakers enjoying visits to San Francisco in late January will have the opportunity to sample the full variety of the city's cuisine as part of a programme launched by the local convention and visitors' bureau.

The twice-yearly 'dine about town San Francisco' programme will have its first outing of 2008 between January 15th and 31st and is expected to be as popular as ever.

This scheme allows visitors to experience the city's finest restaurants, which will have fixed-price, three-course menus offering lunches for $21.95 (£10.60) and dinners for $31.95 (£15.40).

A la carte menus will also be available and some 5,000 different establishments are expected to participate, meaning that there will be food available to suit everyone's tastes.

Reservations for the programme can be made from December 14th on San Francisco's official visitors' site, but are expected to sell out quickly.

San Francisco, which is located in the state of California on America's Pacific coast, is a popular location for holidaymakers in the US, with locations such as the Golden Gate bridge and Alcatraz Island regularly attracting sightseers.
