Arnie appeals to UK tourists
12 December 2007
Former action movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger is hoping that it will be visitors to the state of California who will be saying 'I'll be back' following the launch of a new marketing campaign.
The governor of California is to appear in a television advertising campaign promoting the state to Britons.
Commercials will be screened from Boxing Day and will also feature Rob Lowe, star of The West Wing, and Ugly Betty actress Vanessa Williams.
The 30-second advert is part of a £2.4 million campaign designed to lure more British visitors to California.
It represents the first time that the state's tourism authority has launched a television advertising campaign in the UK.
Britain is the fourth biggest source market for the California travel industry. Tourists from all over the world spent some $93.8bn (£45.8bn) in the state in 2006.
