Swiss celebrates 'best airline for Europe' award

National carrier Swiss has celebrated being named the 'best airline for Europe' by the readers of Germany's Business Traveller magazine.
The company secured the overall accolade by winning top spot in the awards' cabin crew, ground services and lounges and cabin comfort categories.
According to Swiss, the success it has achieved this year builds on the awards it received from Business Traveller last year.
Alexander Arafa, the operator's head of sales and marketing in Europe, said: 'These honours from the readers of Business Traveller mean a lot to us.
'Our top placings confirm to us that we are delivering on our promise of making our customers feel at home whenever they're aboard.'
Swiss has recently developed its fleet, with new seats fitted in all of its planes that operate within Europe, while inflight service will also be updated and improved in 2008.
In December, the airline opened a new lounge for its first-class passengers at Zurich airport, while its business-class customers will be able to access a new facility at the airport from summer 2008.
