Austrian goes twice-daily to Dubai
24 January 2008

Austrian Airlines is set to boost its popular service to Dubai to offer two daily flights from autumn this year.

The carrier will also implement a new schedule of flight times, which it says will offer improved connections to people travelling from Europe to the Middle East.

Austrian currently offers one daily direct flight from its Vienna hub to Dubai, using a Boeing 737 with 16 business-class seats.

The new daytime connection will be launched on 13 November, also using a Boeing 737 and offering a range of inflight services.

Alfred Otsch, chief executive officer of Austrian Airlines, said: 'These new flight times will give our passengers still more flexibility and let them benefit from better connecting flights – something especially important for our transfer passengers from Western and Eastern Europe and Dubai.

'In this way, we are increasing our daily seating capacity from 158 seats at present to up to 252 seats.'

Austrian's business-class service includes an electrically adjustable back, a PC connection and, from September 2008 onwards, an integrated massage function.
