France, Tunisia to boost tourism cooperation
15 February 2008

France and Tunisia are set to enhance the levels of cooperation between their tourism industries, reports claim.

The plans were discussed at a meeting between the Tunisian minister of tourism and the French secretary of state in charge of consumers and tourism, according to Tunisia Online.

An agreement has been in place regarding cooperation between the two nations since 2003.

During this time, Tunisia has enjoyed a number of substantial benefits to its travel industry, including development of archaeological sites, promotion of marinas and spas and more professional training programmes.

Since 2001, the African country has reportedly been the number one foreign destination for French tourists.

In May this year, France will host a meeting of minister of tourism representing the Mediterranean area.
