Singapore GP tickets go on sale
19 February 2008
Three-day passes for the Singapore Grand Prix in September have been officially released for sale.
The race will take place on 28 September this year on a street circuit of public roads around the Marina Bay area of Singapore.
It will be the first night-race in the history of Formula One racing and will be the first street race in Asia.
The initial sale will include 70,000 tickets, which will consist of 15,000 'walkabout' passes and 55,000 grandstand seats strategically located around the circuit.
Other tickets that will go on sale in the future will place audience members opposite the track's pit building, overlooking the pit straight, in front of the main Formula One village or adjacent to the bay grandstand and the Marina waterfront.
The Singapore Grand Prix will include a number of special features as a result of its night-time setting, including a bespoke lighting system designed to offer optimal visibility in night-race conditions.
Participants in the race will be driving at speeds in excess of 300 kilometres an hour along the track's Raffles Boulevard.
