Oneworld consolidates at Beijing
27 February 2008

The oneworld airline alliance has announced that its members are to consolidate their operations at Beijing international airport.

Carriers including British Airways and Qantas will co-locate at the airport's Terminal 3 this week, the group said.

The British and Australian flag carriers will be the first to shift to the third terminal, on 29 February, followed by Cathay Pacific, Dragonair, Finnair and Japan Airlines on 26 March.

One of the most significant benefits for passengers will be a number of new lounge facilities, with Dragonair and Cathay Pacific set to announce details of their joint lounge ahead of their move.

Premium passengers with other oneworld airlines will be able to access the common-use lounge at Beijing, which will open on 29 February with separate facilities for first- and business-class passengers.

Between them, the oneworld carriers operate up to 15 departures a day from Beijing, non-stop to Hong Kong, Helsinki, London, Nagoya, Osaka, Tokyo and Sydney.
