Air France-KLM unveils extended summer schedule
12 March 2008
The Air France-KLM partnership has unveiled its summer schedule, which includes a 4.6% increase in the airlines' capacity.
Long-haul passengers will benefit from a 5.1% increase in space on Air France-KLM flights while the short- and medium-haul network will be boosted by 3.2%.
KLM will be launching a new flight to Panama in Latin America, as well as services from Amsterdam and London Heathrow in cooperation with Northwest Airlines.
Connections to Dallas Fort Worth, Texas and Portland, Oregon will also improve the Dutch carrier's long-haul portfolio, while new medium-haul flights to Linkoping in Sweden and Nantes in France will be launched.
As part of its strategy to focus on emerging markets, KLM will increase capacity to the Asian region by 7% this year, with new links to Chengdu and Shanghai in China, Hyderabad in India and Almaty in Kazakhstan.
Summer 2008 will see Air France strengthening its joint venture with Delta Air Lines, focusing on operations from London, the biggest market for North Atlantic flights.
The carrier will also offer a broader network from its base at Paris Charles de Gaulle, with three new destinations, and boost capacity from its Lyon hub.
