Singapore Airlines receives third A380
12 March 2008
Singapore Airlines has taken delivery of its third Airbus A380 aircraft.
The carrier received the plane at the Airbus delivery plant in Toulouse, France on 11 March.
Singapore Airlines is set to use this plane to begin flights to London Heathrow on 18 March, a service that will represent the first commercial use of the A380 in Europe.
The carrier currently uses the Airbus superjumbo to operate a daily scheduled service between Singapore and Sydney.
Passengers on flights to London will be able to access Singapore Airlines suites, its four-abreast business-class offering or an economy cabin that has recently been revamped to offer more comfort.
Another development for the operator this month will be the launch of new flights from Beijing Capital international airport's Terminal 3.
Ho Yik Wing, Singapore Airlines' general manager in China, said: 'The brand new Terminal 3 gives us the opportunity to deliver a superior experience to our customers in a sophisticated international terminal with modern facilities.'
