Kite-surfing jamboree to take place in Egypt
17 March 2008

The Red Sea destination of El Gouna in Egypt will next month host a kite-surfing 'jamboree' that is being billed as the biggest event of its kind in the region.

A variety of events, contests, activities and shows have been organised for the event, which will run from 18 to 27 April.

During the kite-surfing festival there will be discussions of new trends, exhibitions showcasing and testing the latest equipment and talks covering the rules and safety of the sport.

Those that are involved in kite-surfing can attend exhibitions showcasing the latest kit on offer.

They may also be interested in taking part in professional and amateur kite-surfing competitions, which are designed to give everyone a chance and also get the public involved in the judging process.

Visitors who have never tried kite-surfing before but are intrigued by the prospect can attend free introductory sessions aimed at those getting started in the sport.

The festival will also include a fashion show, photographic and video competitions and nightly parties.
