BA customers advised to check flight details
18 March 2008
People who have booked a flight with British Airways in the near future have been advised to check their journey details as the carrier moves to Terminal 5 at London Heathrow.
BA will move its first services to the new terminal on 27 March, which will include all of its domestic and European connections, with the exception of Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Nice and Helsinki.
Flights to and from Tripoli, Johannesburg, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Vancouver, Tokyo and Hong Kong will also transfer to Terminal 5 on the same day.
The remaining intercontinental links will move to the new facility on 30 April, with the exception of Singapore, Sydney and Bangkok.
BA claims that the move will offer a smoother, simpler experience to customers, who should be able to make it from check-in, past a bag-drop point and through security in ten minutes.
Commercial director Robert Boyle said: 'The opening of Terminal 5 heralds a new era in air travel We're very excited about the move and hope customers are too.'
Travellers were advised that they can make their journey as simple as possible by checking in online and printing their boarding pass and also visiting BA's Terminal 5 microsite to familiarise themselves with the new facility.
