Swiss summer schedule brings further expansion
19 March 2008

Swiss Air Lines has announced that its summer schedule will bring an extended range of non-stop services from its bases in Switzerland.

The carrier's European network will be developed from Zurich, with new links to St Petersburg, Florence and Sofia.

There will also be developments from other Swiss airports, with a new flight to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, from Basel and connections being launched to Bucharest and Istanbul from Geneva.

The intercontinental focus of the Swiss summer schedule, which will open on 30 March and close on 25 October, will be expansion of services to Asia.

Shanghai will see a new non-stop daily flight from Zurich as of 9 May and Singapore will be served via Bangkok on a daily basis between June and October.

These links follow last November's introduction of a new daily service on the Swiss service between Zurich and Delhi.

The many changes that the carrier will implement this summer will lead to its total 2008 summer schedule consisting of 76 destinations in 42 countries.
