TfL links 5 bus routes to Terminal 5
19 March 2008

Transport for London (TfL) will adapt its bus network to provide five new routes to the Terminal 5 building at Heathrow airport.

The organisation announced that it will be running up to 16 buses an hour to serve the new facility, which will officially open to passengers on 27 March.

New connections, which will link areas within Greater London including Southall, Hounslow and Richmond, will be introduced on 22 March.

In addition to the routes running from the airport to the centre of the capital, there will be connections to locations outside London including Slough, Staines, Windsor and Watford.

The public transport interchange at Terminal 5 will also accommodate coach and train services.

Heathrow's new passenger facility was officially inaugurated by the Queen on 14 March and will begin to host services provided by British Airways next week.

London's biggest airport celebrated another milestone on 18 March when it welcomed the Airbus A380, the world's largest passenger aircraft, for the first time.
