Investment boost for Ontario events

Visitors to Ontario, Canada will be able to attend a new and extended range of events in the near future following the announcement of new funding for the province.
The region's tourism ministry announced a round of investment with a total value of $683,000 (£341,660), according to the Canadian Press.
Three events in the Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound region will share $100,000 of funding the Electric Eclectics festival, the Festival of Northern Lights and the International Plowing Match.
Two festivals in the Timmins-James Bay area will share $96,000, while the same amount will go to two summer festivals in Parry Sound-Muskoka.
Among the more unusual events to benefit from increased funding will be the Elvis Festival in Collingwood, which has been allocated an extra $75,000, and the national midget hockey championship, which will be given an additional $4,000.
