Elvis-themed casino to hit the Strip
04 April 2008

Las Vegas could boast a new visitor attraction in the future, in the form of an Elvis Presley-themed casino.

The group that owns the rights to the name and image of the legendary rocker plans to build the new complex on the Nevada city's famous Strip, the Associated Press reports.

According to FX Real Estate and Entertainment, the new casino could cover an 18-acre site and come at a cost of around $3.1bn (£1.55bn).

While the development plans are still at an early stage, the initial ideas for the casino are thought to be based on the unique demands of the Las Vegas market.

The famous gambling haven is popular with Elvis fans, with themed weddings often being held in the city, a trend that the new casino could tap into by building wedding chapels, bridal shops and reception areas.

There could also be a multimedia Elvis experience, a memorabilia store and a boutique incorporated into the new attraction.
