Cruises 'can cut cost of holidays'
30 May 2008
British holiday makers are being urged to take advantage of the strengthening euro and book a cruise instead of a land-based holiday.
The cost for land-based Eurozone holidays has been on the increase and holiday makers eager to save some money can get much more by opting for a cruise.
According to Cruise critic, the world's leading online resource for cruise information, cruises drastically cut transportation costs while still enabling travellers to get to experience many destinations without incurring extra transportation costs.
Travellers are advised to book a European cruise on a UK cruise line where they can save money by paying in pounds for everything on board thus eliminating the risk of poor exchange rates and credit card surcharges.
Those who really want to save more are advised to opt for a ship that uses the dollar for onboard transactions. This puts the exchange rate in favour of the pound.
Cruise holidays have been growing in popularity and according to the European Cruise Council Europe could experience a million more cruise tourists by 2010.
Europe is increasingly becoming a favourite cruise destination and in a sign of just how important the continent has become to cruise lines, major cruise organisations are deploying their lines on the continent.
Royal Caribbean and rival Holland will have a record thirteen ships in Europe this summer.
Opodo cheap flights, hotels and car hire - let the journey begin!
