Singapore Airlines wins Which? award
18 June 2008
Singapore Airlines has won the 'best airline' accolade at the annual awards ceremony held by consumer magazine Which?.
The carrier celebrated the achievement and pointed out that the success came weeks after it was named airline of the year by the Official Airline Guide.
Which? surveyed opinions on more than 30,000 long- and short-haul flights provided by 71 carriers before announcing Singapore Airlines as the overall winner.
The airline claimed that it received top marks for the helpfulness and efficiency of its cabin crew and was also recognised for its in-flight entertainment, the comfort and cleanliness of its aircraft and its value for money.
Air New Zealand and Jet Airways were among the runners-up for the Which? best airline award.
One of the deciding factors in Singapore Airlines' success may have been its recent launch of services using the Airbus A380, which is configured to accommodate 471 passengers in three classes.
