Virgin Atlantic has launched a new promotion encouraging its passengers to check in for their flights online.

All passengers who check in online for Virgin Atlantic flights from Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester airports between 1 July and 31 August will receive £10 off a purchase of two or more fragrances from the airline's onboard shopping range.

People travelling from Heathrow or Gatwick will also receive vouchers and discounts to use at duty-free retailers at the airports.

Paul Dickinson, sales and marketing director for Virgin Atlantic said: 'We hope that this promotion will encourage passengers to check-in online before their trip as it means that on arrival at the airport, they simply hand over their luggage at the bag-drop desk and go straight through security, making the whole process much quicker and stress-free for them.

'Online check-in is currently used by nearly a quarter of our passengers - we predict that this number will continue to increase over the coming months.'

Passengers who check in online for their flight in July or August will be able to print off their vouchers from their check-in confirmation email and take these with them to the airport.
