Qantas to open new business class lounges
03 July 2008

Qantas has announced plans to open new business class lounges at its main Australian airports over the coming months and years.

New facilities will be launched at its terminals in Sydney and Melbourne this month, followed by Canberra in October and Perth in 2010.

The airline opened a business class lounge at Brisbane airport on 30 June.

Qantas executive general manager John Borghetti said the new facilities would be available to business class customers and members of the Qantas and oneworld frequent flyer programmes.

He added: 'Our new lounges have been purpose-built to provide space, increased privacy and a range of business services for our premium customers.'

The lounges will include work suites, computer access and free wireless internet, a selection of hot and cold food choices, separate bathrooms and private shower suites.

Qantas is currently carrying out a number of upgrades at its domestic airports, including the installation of workstations offering PCs, power-charging outlets and wireless hotspots in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.
