'Grey gapping and flashpacking' proving popular

The phenomena of 'grey gapping' and 'flashpacking' are becoming increasingly popular as people look to escape the strain of daily life and work, according to research.
A study by American Express found that almost four in ten working Britons believe they have no time to themselves at the end of the day.
Research has shown that almost a third of Britons are planning to take a break from their job and also that 90 per cent of gap-year travellers are 'grey gappers' – travellers over the age of 30.
Many of these people are also recognised as 'flashpackers' – travellers who have more disposable income than their younger counterparts and can afford a little more luxury.
Nearly one in ten older people on gap years reportedly spend up to £10,000 on their trip.
Chris Rolland of American Express Insurance said: 'For many working Brits it seems that there are never enough hours in the day.
'To escape from this, an increasing number of people are choosing to take a gap year at a later stage in life, having a financial advantage which enables them to travel in a little more luxury compared to their younger counterparts.'
