Bulmers festival to entertain Dublin
11 July 2008
Visitors to Dublin at the beginning of September will have no shortage of entertainment as the city hosts the Bulmers International Comedy Festival.
This event, which will be held at various venues around the Irish capital between 1 and 21 September, is now in its fifth year and is reportedly one of the world's top five comedy festivals.
In its short history it has played host to major stars including Ricky Gervais, Lee Evans, Matt Lucas, David Walliams and Bill Bailey.
This year's festival will be even more significant than usual as it will include the Irish debut of Chris Rock, who will be performing two shows at the Olympia Theatre on 4 September.
Fans of the Police Academy movies will also be given a strong reason to visit Dublin as the Bulmers festival will feature Michael Winslow, better known as the cop who specialised in sound effects, at the Tivoli Theatre from 2-4 September.
Jimmy Carr will also appear at the event, along with Paddy McGuinness, Rich Hall, Ricky Tomlinson and The Mighty Boosh.
