Etihad launches four extra Sydney flights
17 November 2008
Etihad Airways has announced the launch of four new weekly flights between its home base of Abu Dhabi and Sydney, offering a wider range of connections for people travelling between Australia and the Middle East.
Passengers flying to Europe from Sydney will be able to choose from an afternoon or evening departure with Etihad, offering the options of a morning or afternoon arrival.
The United Arab Emirates' national airline is currently pursuing an expansion plan in Australia, with brand new flights to Melbourne set to launch in March 2009.
Lindsay White, Etihad's general manager in Australia, said: 'Sydney has been one of Etihad's most successful route launches in our short five-year history and is an important destination in our global network.
'Abu Dhabi's central geographic location makes it ideal as a gateway for air travellers from Australia to connect to Europe, Africa and throughout the Middle East. The increased Sydney flights will provide our customers with more options and better connections to and from Australia.'
The new flights will operate from Sydney on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and will offer seats in first class, business class and economy.
