The Belgian Tourist Office has announced that the Brussels Card is 'going festive' this year, with a number of new special offers and discounts for the Christmas period.

These include a 25% discount on any Winter Wonders-branded souvenirs and 50% off the price of an adult admission ticket to the Brussels ice-skating rink.

Visitors to the Belgian capital will also be able to take advantage of a free hot drink in the new Winter Wonders organic brasserie when buying another beverage and pay child prices for adults on the big wheel.

These benefits are in addition to the usual features of the Brussels Card, such as admission to 26 museums in and around the capital, unrestricted use of public transport and a free map of the city.

Winter Wonders is one of Belgium's largest Christmas markets, with some 240 chalets and a 100-metre-long ice rink.

Tourists can pick up a Brussels Card for €18 (£15) for 24 hours, €26 for 48 hours or €30 for 72 hours. The Christmas discounts will be valid for the duration of the Winter Wonders market from 28 November to 28 December.
