Travellers invited to discover Paris

The French Government Tourist Office has unveiled its latest advertising campaign, which focuses on the region of Paris Ile-de-France.

Launched in London and 12 other European cities, the initiative has been designed to stimulate people's interest in discovering, or returning to, Paris and its surrounding region.

With a brand message of 'You've never been so close', the campaign focuses on the ease of travel between London and Paris thanks to high-speed rail services.

Paris Ile-de-France will also be depicted as an 'avant-garde territory' in the adverts, full of energy, striking architecture and cultural exhibitions.

A number of artists are involved in the advertising campaign, including the photographer David Stewart and Patrick Blanc, whose plant wall creation is currently on display at Paris' Quai Branly museum.

People planning a trip to Paris over the coming weeks will be able to visit one of its many Christmas markets, which are held in central locations such as La Defense and Place Saint-Sulpice.
