Harrison Ford heads down under
08 March 2006

Harrison Ford has made the trip down under to visit Australia.

The 63-year-old actor headed to Sydney to check out the sights accompanied by partner Calista Flockhart, while promoting his new film.

During the trip, Ford's first to Oz in 12 years, the couple took in the sights including the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.

The couple's stay in Sydney also included a trip to the Taronga Park Zoo where they encountered koala bears, crocodiles and a wombat, a particular treat for Calista's five-year-old adopted son, Liam.

However, their trip down under was short-lived, meaning they missed out on enjoying the great variety of activities on offer, including experiencing the forthcoming Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on April 2nd.

Heading into the centre of Australia one of the high points is Ayer's Rock, now known by the Aboriginal name Uluru.

Some of Australia's best beaches can be found on Kangaroo Island's Vivonne Bay.

As well as great beaches the island is home to a great wealth of wildlife including sea lions, penguins, koalas and, of course, kangaroos.
