Themeless theme park
09 March 2006

A US theme park has lost its theme.

Camp Snoopy at Mall of America (MOA) in Minneapolis, the nation's largest indoor family amusement park, has been forced to drop its association with Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang from Peanuts.

It will now be known as The Park at MOA.

Although the famous beagle will not be around the indoor park's ride will continue.

An MOA spokesman said: "We worked hard to maintain our longstanding association with the Peanuts and Camp Snoopy brands.

"Unfortunately, the parties were unable to reach an agreement that would allow us to continue providing our park guests with the experience they expect."

Attractions at The Park include a 24-foot climbing wall, the Mighty Axe, which spins people in all directions at a height of ten stories, the Timberland Twister, a spinning plummeting coaster and a petting zoo.

Mall of America is the US's largest retail and entertainment complex with over 520 different shops, an aquarium and a 14-screen cinema, covering in total 4.2 million square feet.
