US airport plays host to presidential meet and greet
14 March 2006
One of Rochester's newest sporting heroes is to greet the president of the United States at Rochester International Airport.
The Minnesota Airport will play host to the meet and greet, where Greece Athena basketball manager Jason McElwain, known as J-Mac, will meet President Bush with his family.
J-Mac found fame in Rochester after the autistic teenager went from team manager, to player, to superstar, scoring 20 points in four minutes, News 10NBC reports.
"It's going to be a proud moment tomorrow meeting the president," J-Mac said.
"I'm not a Republican, I'm a Democrat but, when you think about it, it's the president of the United States."
After meeting J-Mac, President Bush will then travel on to Canandaigua where he will give a talk with senior citizens about the Medicare prescription drug plan before leading a town hall style meeting at Canandaigua Academy.
