Other changes in the schedule include a doubling of the number of flights from London Heathrow to Delhi and increased flights to North America, including Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Seattle.
Robert Boyle, BA director of planning, said: "Our new shorthaul routes from Gatwick include the first ever scheduled service between the UK and Tirana.
"Albania has enormous potential as a business and leisure destination especially as an increasing number of Albanians are now based in the UK.
"Another new destination is Varna on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast which has become a popular destination for Britons buying holiday homes."
