FlyMe takes off to Gothenburg
31 March 2006
The Swedish low cost airline FlyMe has started services from Gothenburg to London.
The airline now offers 13 weekly flights between London Stansted and Gothenburg Landvetter.
FlyMe commercial director Johannes Georgsson said: 'There is already considerable traffic between those two destinations
'We believe that more and more British leisure travellers are realising that Gothenburg is great for city breaks as well as extended stay holidays.'
FlyMe has recently significantly expanded the number of destinations it flies to, in addition to its core Scandinavian routes from Stockholm to Gothenburg, Malmo, Ostersund and Helsinki.
From Gothenburg the airline now flies to Paris, Nice, Amsterdam, Rome, Prague, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Alicante, Chania, in Greece, and Rhodes.
As well as offering many attractions, both historic and modern, Gothenburg is also a gateway to the west of Sweden where along the rocky and dramatic coastline castles and picturesque villages can be found.
