Twin Peaks of Washington
28 April 2006
Fifteen years after the programme Twin Peaks last hit TV screens, fans are still returning to the town where it was filmed.
The town of North Bend in Washington State each year hosts the Twin Peaks Fest.
This year the festival runs from 28 to 30 July with a series of events including the chance to meet some of the stars of David Lynch's surreal drama series.
Fans re-enact scenes from the show, dress up as their favourite characters, explore locations and sit down to enjoy damn fine coffee and cherry pie.
The Twin Peaks Fest has been running since 1993 and despite the length of time the series has been off the screens, it remains a popular attraction.
Washington is often ignored as a destination by travellers but it offers the chance to see a different side of the US.
From the state's largest city Seattle visitors can head out to find unspoilt islands, deserts, mountains and forests.
