Jazz on the Red Sea
16 May 2006
The Middle East's premier jazz event is set for August again this year.
The Red Sea Jazz Festival - this year running from 27 to 30 August - in Eliat, Israel, is well known for attracting some of the world's top musicians as well as thousands of jazz fanatics.
The dates for the four-day event have yet to be confirmed but visitors can look forward to mingling among some 40,000 fellow fans at the festival's 30 concerts.
The event boasts four open air stages playing a variety of different genres.
The line-up is constantly strong and last year acts such as Zap Mama, Dianne Reeves and Billy Cobham wowed the fans.
Impromptu jam sessions often go on long in to the night at the Riviera Hotel's poolside, meaning those looking for jazz until dawn are well catered for.
With the Red Sea and the spectacular mountains as a backdrop, it looks set to be an unforgettable experience.
